I am a Mathematics teacher working in Kulachi Hansraj Model School, Delhi, India. This is a dummy wiki set up for those Math teachers who are interested in creating online wiki classrooms 24x7 to bridge a gap which is created after school hours when a student needs a support system.

We all have experienced through three dimensions of teaching learning of Mathematics, which are a Mathematics classroom with an instant board, Mathematics laboratory and a multimedia enriched classroom in the school. The 4th dimension is an element of expanded classroom i.e. an online wiki classroom. Technology is advancing with the speed of light. There is no dearth of offline tools, web tools and software which can help a teacher in making joyful learning environments for their students. The use of technology provides opportunities for students to investigate and apply the things they are learning in the classroom. It allows students to interact, create, present and provide a meaningful and purposeful learning activity that is connected to classroom curriculum and goals.

Before Starting a Wiki:

Plan on paper. list all pros and cons.
Conduct a Survey… How many students have inter net facility at home?
Orientation of Parents

* Share your idea, duration of activity,

* Tell them to keep a watch

* Wiki etiquettes

Prepare an implementation plan.
Keep evolving based on the feedback

Steps for initiating a Wiki Classroom

1. Knowing a Wiki Structure and its various features:

Being a teacher it is essential to first of all understand about the tool used, its purpose and how it will be used based on its features.

How to create a page?

How to add a link to a page?

How to upload a file and then link it on a page?

How to embed a video on a page?

How to invite students?

How to lock a page? etc.

2. Planning of Wiki Pages by the teacher:

Front Page: as Teacher's Page (FrontPage). Students are not supposed to edit the front page. Teacher will add the instructions for students on this page. Also, students can navigate through the front page.
Class Page: (Class page having links of each student page) (No. of students + 1) pages

ClassPage10C (It will include the link of each student page)

Query page: This page adds value to having an online support system for students. Students may post questions here.
